Back in October I sold a pretty nice Nelspot and I figured I would take a look at it internally before I shipped it off.
While breaking it down I discover the cup seal is leaking so I repair the cup seal and then use my 12 gram dummy setup to test it again and make sure it seals up.
This Nelspot is mostly stock, with the in grip valve, but it does have an after market powertube (likely an early lapco?). This makes it a perfect example for a breakdown to show the process of disassembling a stock Nelspot.
After I disassembly and test this nelspot I reassembly and test again.
A few things to note about my disassembly and reassembly.
•I screwed the 12 gram screw in really tight when sealing the 12 gram dummy. You don’t need to screw this wheel in as much and when you do it normally toques the valve and results in binding and even could have been the reason for the initial leak.
•I also don’t typically cock the internals (bolt and hammer) before I reassemble. This can cause some trouble getting the bolt and hammer into the grip frame sear slot.
