Palmer’s Tornado in the EMR Paintball Museum and Palmer’s Catalog

2012-9-15-tornado-part-5

I took this picture of another Palmer’s Tornado at the EMR paintball museum while I was attending a Pump Pandemonium game in 2008.

Glenn and Craig Palmer donated a batch of classic Palmers Pursuit Shop markers to the EMR museum including a prototype Blazer, a radical super old Hurricane, a Paladin and even this Tornado.
These guns even had the dates on them which is extremely helpful for putting them in historical context.

Not the best picture but this Tornado is a Breech drop semi and could be built off a Lapco Wraith, an AGS Devastator or a Line SI Skirmish body. The back bottle is a red Cooper T accessory and the frame is the usual Wintec. The label reads August 1989 which means it predated the release of Tippmann’s SMG 68 by around one month (September 15th 1989).

And here is a link to another reference scan of a Palmer’s Tornado that Steve Davidson posted on http://www.68caliber.com. Davidson scanned this PAlmer’s ad from Paintball New’s 1991 “Stocking Stuffer Christmas Catalog.”

About halfway down the article is a Palmer’s ad with a picture of possibly the same Tornado that is now in the EMR museum.

Action Sport Outfitters also had an ad listing Termites as an available gun.

Davidson has part one of the scans here:
