PRP Pump from ICD Breakdown and Reassembly

Darren “Woouulf” Musick and I take a look at the internals in the Indian Creek Design PRP Pump.

ICD’s PRP is a recent take on the classic nelson pump design.  It shares many of the attributes of Line SI’s / ICD’s classic Line SI bushmaster (which was built in part by Jerry Dobbins before Indian Creek Design).

The largest difference is the PRP’s undercocking pump handle and pivot open design for disassebly.

The PRP’s bore drop bolt and hammer setup, powertube and valve retaining screw are all very simular to the Bushmaster’s. The integrated ASA and gas through grip design is also a departure from the classic bottomline or back bottle. The PRP come equipped with ICD’s aluminum grip panels.

As Darren mentions, this video  shouldn’t serve as a performance test or quality check, since for my interests we are just comparing parts and checking possible compatibility.

As for compatibility, the power tube and cup seal could be used in a Line SI pump or standard nelspot based paintgun. The sear and hammer could also with with the Line SI frame. The reamining parts would not be compatible though.

My thoughts are that I liked the bolt’s design and the disconnect on the bolt was neat (hard to see in the video but you pull a small notch up to release the bolt).

I feel like the main spring in the PRP pump is too heavy and I would definitely change springs. I also am generally not a huge fan of gas through grips or lever on offs. I like the idea of notching the bolt all the way around so it doesn’t have to line up when assembling. As I mention in the video I don’t like the aluminum valve retaining screw.
